Rhino-Stu Hoists the ‘Jolly Roger’

Ten years ago I discovered the joy of Salsa Dancing, which very quickly became my biggest passion. After a year I decided I would like to teach salsa dancing and a few months later started my own Salsa club in Essex, which I called ‘Salsa SOS’.

In keeping with the times I finaly gave in and entered the world of the Internet and created a website to promote the salsa club and I set up a members mailing list to keep in touch with my club members via email.

It was a steep learning curve, and I made loads of mistakes (still am I guess), but now the website is what I would describe as presentable. I have also been very successful at ranking ‘SalsaSOS.net’ very high in Google (usually No. 1) for the most relevant keywords, and it is pretty effective at attracting new students to the club.

I have also created a Blog as an additional method of keeping club members informed of news and events and attracting traffic to my main club website. The only thing I really try to sell on the club site is our 8 week Beginner Program of classes. This is my first experience of trying to sell anything on the internet,and it is still very much a work in progress.
